The duties of Care, Loyalty, and Obedience have specific meaning in regard to the obligations of the NFDF Board of Directors:
Duty of Care - Directors be reasonably informed about the organization's activities, participate in decisions, and do so in good faith and with the care of an ordinarily prudent person.
Duty of Loyalty - Directors exercise their powers in the interest of the organization.
Duty of Obedience - Directors comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, adhere to the organization's by-laws, and remain the guardians of the mission.
