Fabry Disease Community Support

Several organizations provide support to individuals with Fabry disease as follows:

  • The National Fabry Disease Foundation (NFDF) offers many forms of education, assistance and support to the Fabry community as indicated on this website.

  • Invite the NFDF to host or attend meetings and conferences to provide education and awareness by sending an email to info@fabrydisease.org.

  • National Institutes of Health - National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes - Fabry Disease Information page.

  • Mt Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM) - Clinical evaluation and genetic testing - The MSSM International Center for Fabry Disease performs free enzyme and mutation analysis for Fabry disease.

  • Emory University School of Medicine - Fabry Family Member Testing Project - The Fabry Family Member Testing project is a special program offered through the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) and Emory Genetics Laboratory (EGL) intended to test individuals with a known family history of Fabry Disease. The objective of the project is to help family members obtain testing and appropriate follow-up.

  • Patient Services Incorporated - Financial assistance - A non-profit organization committed to assisting persons with chronic medical illnesses. You must call and request available assistance. Insurance premium assistance and often incidental medical expense assistance are available.

  • FSIG Discussion Page - The Fabry Support and Information Group (FSIG) provides support to the Fabry community to include an opportunity for the Fabry disease community to interact online.

    Of course, there are many other U.S. organizations that play some role in Fabry disease support that are not listed here. We have identified the primary support U.S. organizations we believe are important.

    If you belong to or are aware of an organization that provides free clinical, counseling, financial, or other support to individuals with Fabry disease, please contact us at info@fabrydisease.org so we may add your services to this list.
